Texting and Consumer Privacy

Effective Date: August 27, 2026

Wilson Almonte M.D., Victoria Pain & Rehabilitation Center, and Brazos Pain Management (collectively, "we," "us," or "our") are committed to protecting the information used in our text messaging program. This notice explains how we collect, use, and protect mobile information when communicating with you by SMS or MMS.

  1. 1. Consent to Receive Text Messages

We send text messages only after receiving your consent through an approved opt-in process, which may include a written form, electronic form, recorded verbal consent, or another documented method. Providing a phone number by itself does not authorize marketing text messages. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of receiving care or services.

  2. 2. Purpose of Text Communications

We use text messaging to provide important information, including but not limited to:

    • Appointment reminders
    • Updates about your treatment plan
    • Health-related notifications and instructions
    • Responses to inquiries and requests

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

  3. 3. Consumer Rights

You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. After you opt out, we may send one confirmation message and will not send additional text messages unless you opt in again. Reply HELP for assistance or contact the applicable office below. Opting out of text messages will not affect your care.

  4. 4. Data Protection

Mobile information, including phone numbers and SMS opt-in or consent records, will not be shared, sold, rented, or disclosed to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We may share mobile information with service providers that support our messaging program only as necessary to provide those services on our behalf and subject to appropriate privacy and security obligations. We may also disclose information when required by law.

  5. 5. Message Security and Sensitive Information

Text messaging may not be fully secure. Do not use text messaging for emergencies or to send sensitive medical information unless we specifically direct you to an approved secure channel. For a medical emergency, call 911.

  6. 6. SMS Terms

Our SMS Terms of Service contain additional details about message frequency, carrier charges, opting out, and support.
